Interesting. It looks like there is a Durham site active (perhaps in beta?) but it's not linked anywhere. Go to http://durham.mync.com/site/durham to see the site.

Given the Media General ownership (they own NBC 17) and the presence of lots of NBC 17 content on the site, it looks like this is the hyperlocal news site that has been rumbled to be coming out of the TV station for some time.

PS -- I just discovered your blog thanks to Valerie over at We Love Durham. Looks great -- look forward to reading more!

I was watching CNN tonight (04/24/08) and Wolf Blitzer was talking about the "well-educated, liberal Research Triangle Park". The graphic he displayed showed the Triangle extending all the way north to the Virginia border.

I know that the Research Triangle Regional Partnership (a working group led by RTI) considers the Triangle to include a great northern swath. Go to researchtriangle.org and click on "Counties" to see the map.

But regardless, Durham is definitely well within the boundaries of the Triangle.
